Stop spinning our wins into losses
Sometimes, some of us can feel a bit miserable even after we win something.
Not exactly unhappy about our achievement but because the path to that achievement was not entirely how we had imagined it to be, we are left wondering what just happened without actually appreciating the fact that we are at the goal line — one we had been dreaming of and working towards all these years.
I am not exaggerating when I say for some of us who have been fighting against fascism for four years, what happened on Nov 3, 2020 has certainly left us in a somewhat of a mixed emotional state, even after we have smelt victory. And the constant media narrative thereafter, labeling this as “not a landslide” victory for the Democrats hasn’t really helped us feel any better, irrespective of the position we are in right now.
I know why we feel that way. I have theorized that reason into a formula.
When you have an electoral system designed in the 18th century mixed with a communication system designed in the 21st century fueled by Trump party clown car parade gaslighting through it, this is exactly what you get and how you feel.
